In Fall 2025, Dalhousie University announced the ratification of its first collective agreement with the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Local 86001 (Collective Agreements - Labour Relations - Dalhousie University), representing Grant-Paid employees. The agreement came into effect on July 28, 2025. As part of this agreement, the hiring process for all Grant Paid positions (unionized and non union) will be updated beginning February 1, 2026. 

 

All regular Grant Paid searches will follow the same guiding principles and procedures applied to other regular staff groups (NSGEU 77, DPMG, etc). Resources, tools, and guidelines can be found on People and Culture’s Hiring Staff site.

 

While our staff recruitment procedures are well established, we recognize working within them may be new for many PIs. In this session, the Recruitment and Talent Management team will provide a brief overview followed by time for questions.
