In this session, participants will learn how stress impacts the mind and body and develop practical skills to manage it effectively. We’ll explore how anxiety activates the nervous system, how to recognize early stress signals, and how unaddressed stress can lead to unhelpful coping patterns.

You will:

· Build your own Stress Barometer: Learn to notice your stress signals and understand where you are on the pressure scale.

· Practice Wise Mind Thinking: Stay grounded in the present instead of getting pulled into the past or future.

· Use Grounding Techniques: Shift from your head to your body to regulate your nervous system and stay calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

This session is open to all staff and faculty at Acadia University, Dalhousie University, Holland College, Memorial University, and St. Francis Xavier University.
