Employment Equity Plan: Implementation Workshop 

Dalhousie’s Employment Equity Plan presents a set of overarching priorities and concrete actions that will help us realize equity in employment. This interactive workshop will provide participants with practical tools to help them implement Dalhousie’s Employment Equity Plan and make their workspaces more equitable and inclusive. 

All Dalhousie employees are welcome to join. 

This workshop's objectives are to: 

• Create a collective learning space 

• Explore Dal's Employment Equity Plan priorities and actions 

• Discuss connection between Employment Equity and Human Rights 

• Share opportunities and challenges related to the implementation of the plan within your own divisions 

• Start creating your implementation plan 

Lead facilitator, Huwaida Medani, Manager of Employment Equity at Dalhousie, has extensive experience in diversity, inclusion, and social justice. Previously, she served as Senior Advisor, Diversity and Inclusion, with Halifax Regional Municipality. Huwaida has held leadership roles at the YMCA, African Diaspora Association of the Maritimes, and Women’s Employment Outreach. In 2024, she received Dalhousie’s IDDEA Award for Excellence in Inclusion, Diversity, Decolonization, Equity, and Accessibility.
