1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Register here to be sent an invitation to the online meeting closer to the date.

Conflict is a normal part of our lives. Sometimes we avoid it and sometimes we jump into it feet first. This session will provide you with an opportunity to understand your conflict management style and explore conflict management skills. In learning to approach conflict resolution, we can find ways to confront problems through communication, respect, and honesty.

Our presenter: Carla Britten, Ombudsperson

Before becoming the Ombudsperson, Carla worked at Dalhousie in the Student Accessibility Centre and on the Residence Life Team. Her educational background is in Social Work, and she is a proud graduate of Dalhousie’s Masters of Social Work program. In working from the Ombudsperson Office, her approach is to listen, understand, and support. She provides free, confidential support to Dalhousie students and faculty/staff by helping solve concerns and complaints as situations arise.

The Ombudsperson Office recognizes that within Dalhousie there are different levels of power and privilege between us that influence how we work with one another. The Ombudsperson is committed to educating the community and will endeavour to find ways to work together that recognize and challenge inequalities.
