Microaggressions are everyday subtle insults directed toward people from minority groups They often come from well-intentioned people who believe they’ve done nothing offensive. While microaggression may seem harmless, a lifetime of microaggressions can be devastating to a person’s health.This session aims to:

  • Discuss the impact of microaggression on wellness
  • Explore ways to eliminate the impact of microaggressions on individuals receiving them
  • Examine how to prevent microaggressive behaviour in your workplace or community

About the Facilitator: Huwaida Medani is an employment equity manager at Dal. She holds a Masters degree in educational psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University, a Bachelors Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Khartoum. Huwaida’s work and advocacy focus on equity, social justice, and community development.
