The stresses and challenges of caring for others are numerous and can take their toll, affecting the caregiver and the one receiving care, as well as the caregiver's family, friends and workplace.
This meeting will involve a presentation and discussion by Dr. Elaine Moody from the School of Nursing on her research into dementia.
Dr. Moody received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honours degree from St. Francis Xavier University, and Master of Science and PhD in Nursing from the University of British Columbia. Her scholarship is focused on better understanding the context of health and health care for older people, particularly those with complex health and social care needs such as older people with frailty, multimorbidity and dementia. Dr. Moody’s research aims to support older people across care settings, including the community, primary care and acute hospitals.
