This workshop will help you become aware of what burnout is and what domain of burnout you might be struggling with. We will then do an experiential exercise to build your emotional awareness skills so you can know the difference between emotions, anxiety and avoidant patterns. Understanding these differences can empower you to address issues earlier in order to prevent further burnout and move towards wellness.

Our Presenter: Dr. Angela Cooper is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Family Medicine. During her time with the Department of Family Medicine, Dr. Cooper became increasingly interested in the role of physician and learner wellness, realizing that wellness is central to providing excellent patient care, managing burnout and promoting healthy work environments. In her new role as the inaugural Assistant Dean of Wellness for the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Cooper will provide strategic direction in the development of wellness programming for faculty members, ensuring that components are evidence based and aligned with current best practices for promoting faculty wellness.
