We’re an ageing population, working longer, and there are increasing numbers of women in the workplace with an even higher proportion of working women of menopausal age.
Menopause, and the impact it has on women to work effectively, is one of the last health taboos.
It’s time we changed the way we talk about menopause in the workplace and make sure women have the right support to handle menopause symptoms.
Both men and women are welcome to join this session to explore strategies to create a menopause-friendly Dalhousie.
Our Presenter: Shawna O’Hearn is the Director of the Office of Community Partnerships and Global Health in the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie. As an Occupational Therapist and fierce ally for EDIA, she embarked on a PhD to understand women’s health in the workplace with a focus on aging and perimenopause.
